Lazy Jack Boom Bags are a complete mainsail management system including a mainsail cover, which is attached to the boom track at all times, a set of built-in lazy jack stays and full length supporting battens.  The bag sits in the track on top of your boom, and keeps the sail on top - increasing your visibility and preventing the sail falling into the cockpit at that worst possible moment!

The lazy jack stays provide a convenient, easy to use and non-mechanical method of flaking and controlling your mainsail during hoisting and dropping.  No more myriad of sail ties and running up and down the deck - just open the bag and hoist.  To drop the sail, simply uncleat the halyard and let the sail drop into the bag, then run the full-length zipper closed to keep it all compact and covered.

OUR LAZY JACK BAG OVERVIEW

• Rolly Tasker Boom Bags are a high-quality, universal mainsail cover that can be conveniently fitted and removed independent of the mainsail.
• The full-length top zipper makes opening and closing the bag easy whilst ensuring that UV is keep away from your mainsail and excess water is kept out.
• The rear end is open to allow airflow.  The rear can also incorporate a rear clip enclosure to prevent bird entry.  The front has long adjustable straps that can be shortened as desired to accompany fittings on the mast such as spinnaker poles and winches.
• The bag is attached to the boom track using slugs which means you are not required to drill any holes in the boom. If your mainsail is attached to the boom with slides, we would then utilise Velcro straps to attach the bag to the boom.
• The bag is not sewn between all the slugs allowing reef lines to be led from the sail, through the boom bag and fasten to or around the boom.
• There are forward and aft lashing lines to help position the bag fore and aft on the boom.
• The battens are inserted from the forward end of the bag. The design is such, that the battens themselves become the attachment point for the lazy jacks. This reduces point loading and makes the bag smooth and taunt. The battens are locked in place with the Velcro closure system.
• We also have the optional Lazy Jack Rope Kit which can be purchased at checkout which ranges from $80 to $150 depending on the size of the bag.  This has been designed to support the bag over the entire length and comes complete with instructions and fastenings for the mast as standard if you require them.

REAR BIRD CLOSURE

 You can either have the rear end open or you can opt for the Rear Clip Closure to prevent bird entry.

FULLY ADJUSTABLE ROPE KITS

While most owners go for our standard lazy jack rope kit (which is the first rope kit option during the purchase), some owners would like to be able to adjust the tension of their kit from the base of the mast. If you are racing then this allows you to pull the ropes forward and roll the bag onto the boom. We can provide these kits for $115 which include:

2 x small top blocks, 2 x shackles, 2 x mast horn cleats, 2 x over length upper lines that run all the way back to the deck.

HOW DO I WORK OUT THE PRICE OF MY NEW BAG?

The pricing is simply based on the measurement from the aft side of your mast to the rear side of the main mainsail. (also called measurement 2 on our form below.

So if this measures 4m then simply bring up the price for that measurement range in our drop down.

WHAT SIZE DO I REQUIRE?  

All of our Lazy Jack Boom Bags are 100% made to order based on a series of measurements specific to your boat, including - boom length, sail stack height, boom slide size, mast diameter and more.  However, to make it easy for you and to ensure a perfect fit, we have developed a simple measurement form for you to complete and return.

Our custom made Lazy Jack Boom Bags are constructed to the highest quality, their key features being:

DELIVERY

Once we finalise your order with you then delivery is usually about 4 weeks however it may vary depending on sail size and construction time. We have also introduced modular battens that ship In a 1.8m long cardboard shipping tube, ensuring fast and efficient shipping Australia wide

At the point of 'online checkout' for your order a freight charge will be calculated based on the median freight cost for Capital Cities and Major Regional Centres.   Depending on your location there may be a variation in the actual freight cost, in this situation you will be notified of any adjustment to the cost of shipping your order.
